Downtown Years do not last forever.
In general, people move downtown to work and play. You get the internship or land the job and move closer to work. Or maybe you move downtown with a few friends and split the absurd cost of rent to live it up until the money dries up.
Either way, moving downtown tends to be a short term plan and faith fits awkwardly into that plan.
Why find a church if you will only live downtown a few years? Why find a church if the goal of your current era is to have fun?
We believe there are three things the church offers that are of particular benefit during your downtown years:
Community: There are plenty of places to connect with people downtown and yet, it is easy to feel lonely. Center Church prioritizes community for this reason. We help people find and develop friendships for the long haul.
Growth: We practice deliberate discipleship which enables participants to quickly develop the long-term rhythms that produce dynamic faith. In this way, we transform downtown from an adult playground, to a training ground for lasting discipleship.
Love for the City: When you know you will not live in this community forever, it is easier to ignore the needs and problems around you. But anyone can see that there is tremendous need in our community, and as a church we are committed to developing an enduring love for the city. We don’t just use the city for its resources and bail when we have had our fill. We invest in the city for the long run. If you would like to make a difference in this city, we’d love to partner with you.

Make it stand out.

Dream it.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
